'Steve Driver and Tony Lackey, formerly working within the AMOS business unit at SpecTec, have started a new shipping IT consultancy in the North of England, along with colleagues Gary McDonald and Paul Taylor.

"We strongly believe there is a growing demand from our customers for a much more flexible, cost-effective and proactive solutions provider such as SRO," the comany says.

It will concentrate on planned maintenance, purchasing and ship-to-shore communications, and providing services through installation, implementation, training and support.  It will also provide customised development, database support and consultancy on predictive maintenance, e-commerce, VSAT and knowledge management.

SRO has already signed it first agency agreement with Rydex Corporation, to sell its rmx2 ship shore email software in the UK.'
